If you choose to make your payment by paper check; your check MUST be received no later than April 7, 2010.
HOTEL REIMBURSEMENTS: Preceptors and/or Program Directors do not receive reimbursement from the conference for travel or hotel and are responsible for making their own travel and hotel arrangements.
UNACCOMPANIED RESIDENTS: Residents presenting at the conference who are not accompanied by a preceptor must pay all expenses. The conference will not reimburse their expenses. This includes hotel room + tax (unless certain circumstances arise and arrangments are made between the preceptor and the conference coordinator).
ACCOMPANIED RESIDENTS: For all presenting residents accompanied by a preceptor; the conference will make their hotel reservations based off information obtained from their online conference registration form. If a preceptor is planning to share a room with a presenting resident; the conference must be notified. Please ask that the resident make note in the “Special Requests” section of his or her online conference registration form.
HOST RESIDENCY PROGRAM: Please remind your resident(s) and/or fellow(s) attending the conference that the host residency program is sponsoring the conference on a voluntary basis. They are sponsoring the conference because they are dedicated to post graduate pharmacy education. They are not professional meeting planners. The host residency program will be trying very hard to make the conference a success, but sometimes there can be glitches. They will work very hard to correct any problems if they occur.
SPONSORSHIPS: The conference is sponsored by donations from the pharmaceutical industry and pharmaceutical wholesalers. We do not receive financial support from national pharmacy organizations. The National Planning Committee and host program contact these companies and request donations on a yearly basis. We can always use additional support, if you know of a company that would like to support post graduate pharmacy education please contact Dana Price, Conference Coordinator.
DEADLINES: Please remind your residents to submit their registration form, abstract, and CE documentation (CV and signed Conflict of Interest form) by the deadline dates.
PRESENTATION SOFTWARE: The conference will only support presentations on Microsoft PowerPoint software. MacIntosh presentation software will not be available to the presenter.
USB DRIVE: Presentations must be stored on a USB drive/jump drive.
PRESENTATION ATTENDANCE: Residents attending the conference are expected to attend other resident’s presentations – especially sessions late in the day on day one; as well as all sessions after lunch on the final day. There is nothing more depressing to a resident who has worked extremely hard on their presentation than to give a presentation to an empty room.
INCREASING ATTENDANCE: In an attempt to increase attendance for afternoon sessions; the Planning Committee has decided to ask the moderator of each session to handout tickets or coupons following each session to individuals who are in attendance. The moderator will distribute double tickets or coupons for afternoon session on the first day and triple tickets or coupons to attendees during the afternoon sessions on the final day. A drawing will be held at the end of the conference and two prizes will be given away. Conference attendees must be present at the time of the drawing in order to win.
FINAL PRESENTATION SCHEDULE: The resident’s presentation schedule will not be released until one week before the conference. At that time you will be able to view the presentation schedule on this website under “Schedules”.
EVALUATION FORMS: Evaluation forms can be picked up at the end of the day on the final day of the conference. Evaluations forms and conference certificates will be available at the conference registration desk at this time. Evaluations forms will not be mailed to presenters after the conference.
