Purpose and Goals

Conference Purpose

The purpose of the Midwest Pharmacy Residency Conference is to develop future pharmacy leaders by providing pharmacy residents and fellows from the Midwest Region the opportunity to share their experiences from various practice settings.

Conference Goals

  1. To provide a forum where pharmacy residents nd fellows can present completed research or research in progress, a special project or a case study conducted during their residency/fellowship.
  2. To provide a structured setting that allows pharmacy residents, fellows, preceptors, students, practitioners, industry representatives and national pharmacy leaders the opportunity to exchange innovative ideas related to pharmacy practice in organized healthcare settings.
  3. To create an opportunity for the development of leadership skills among current and future pharmacy practitioners.
  4. To create an atmosphere that encourages professional network support among conference participants.

 

Conference Sponsorship & Planning

Funding for the Midwest Pharmacy Residents Conference comes predominaantly from industry sponsorship.  Each year the National Planning Committee solicits funds from the conference from industry sponsors.  The National Planning Committee, comprised of individuals from different states within the Midwest Regional, is solely responsible for overseeing the conference from year to year and assisting in the planning and fundraising process.

CE Credit Available

The Nebraska Council for Continuing Pharmaceutical Education, Inc. (NCCPE) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  The ACPE provider numbers for the conference are to be posted next to each CE session on the presentation schedule.  Participants will be awarded 1 contact hour of continuing education or 0.10 CEUs per hour of completion.

In order to receive CE credit, participants must purchase credit for $15.00 and complete all speaker evaluation forms.  Participants must attend the entire session in order to receive any CE credit for that session.  No partial credit will be awarded.  Statements of Credit will be mailed to participants requesting credit.  If you do not receive your Statement of Credit, contact Dana Price at (402) 559-4412.
